2024's Longest Running Joke Finally Has a Punchline

Ron DeSantis finally ended his Goofy quest with a whimper of a misquote , which seemed to punctuate his campaign. Churchill would be baffled, as were the voters.  Perhaps, Ron was quoting former president George W. Bush, who was also famous for malapropisms.

Trump Goes James Bond -   Just For Me But Not for Thee - Trump's lawyers argued in Federal Appeals Court that a sitting president would be immune from prosecution if he ordered the assassination of his political enemy.  The judge found this uncompelling.  However, the Supreme Court may think otherwise.  If they do, then Sleepy Joe can end The Donald with prejudice and impunity.  Now, that's entertaining!

Buster

Trump Gets the Last Word Six minutes of hell for Judge Engoron - Closingly Argumentative   He may lose the trial, but The Donald still gave the court a piece of his mind.  His strategy of insulting the prosecution and the judge may someday be a winner, but it bought no favors today.  However, if it works, we may see the American judicial system go the way of Grand Theft Auto.

Bluster

Trump Plans to Speak - The Donald is planned to speak at closing arguments of his NY civil case, which might be the most entertaining thing he has done since Celebrity Apprentice.  However, this will not happen. He is famous for posturing, not for defending himself in court.  This is a shame, too, because it might become the biggest TikTok video of the year. Update:  That was quick - Trump can't deliver closing argument in New York civil fraud trial, judge rules https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-closing-argument-new-york-fraud-trial-judge/
